Laser Skin Treatments
A fresher complexion, firmer-feeling skin, and a more youthful appearance are some of the most noticeable benefits of laser skin treatments. If you’re looking to reduce crow’s feet, forehead lines, under-eye circles, brown spots, or other facial blemishes, laser skin treatments may be a beneficial option. At our Evansville, Indiana office, Dr. Paik and Shay Glisson, FNP-BC, provide several laser skin treatments to help patients achieve a smoother, more youthful aesthetic.
Rohrer Spectrum Laser
The Spectrum laser is a functional, portable, and intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy laser treatment all in one. This is a brand new state of the art laser machine allowing for treatment of multiple aging concerns. This minimally invasive procedure can be used for a variety of cosmetic treatments, and the results are almost immediate. Patients at Midwest Facial Plastic Surgery often undergo Spectrum laser treatments for a number of uses, including:
- 810-Diode Hair Removal: The Spectrum laser is a superb choice for patients who are seeking hair removal. With its large spot size and high-rate of pulses per second, hair removal treatments are quick and effective. The Spectrum laser also offers contact cooling for enhanced patient comfort. During the procedure, hair follicles are destroyed to prevent future hair growth. For optimal results, Midwest Facial Plastic Surgery suggests 5-10 treatments over the course of several weeks.
- Intense Pulsed Light: The intense pulsed light (IPL) component of the Spectrum laser offers four settings for different procedures, including acne reduction, vascular and pigmented lesion removal, and hair reduction. These procedures are gentle and offer little to no discomfort. Many patients of Midwest Facial Plastic Surgery opt for IPL treatments with the Spectrum laser for its versatility and fast-acting results.
- Long-Pulsed Yag – Vascular Reduction: One of the top uses for the Spectrum laser’s LongPulsed Yag is reduction of vascular lesions, more commonly known as spider veins. This condition is caused by sun damage, sitting for long periods of time, aging, and other common issues. The Long-Pulsed Yag targets blood vessels by using energy to heat, damage, and collapse them. Once collapses, patients notice a smoother surface of the skin and less vein visibility.
- Q-Switched Yag/KTP – Tattoo Removal: For patients who wish to hide or remove an unwanted tattoo, the Spectrum laser’s Q-Switched Yag / KTP device uses dual wavelengths to remove tattoo pigments from the skin. The laser breaks down the pigments into smaller particles, allowing them to be absorbed and recycled through the skin. Depending on the size of the tattoo to be removed, patients may just need a few treatments or several; the quantity of suggested treatments will be discussed in your initial consultation.
- Erbium Yag – Skin Resurfacing: This procedure addresses surface pigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles on the face, neck, chest, and hands. Depending on the patient’s needs and aesthetic goals, the treatment may be tailored for either superficial or deeper treatments. Midwest Facial Plastic Surgery recommends combining this procedure with other treatments such as Pixel 8 RF microneedling for even more enhanced results.
